An automatic transfer switch (ATS) control panel is an electrical control unit responsible for switching power between two power sources. It is typically used in power distribution systems that require a continuous power supply.
The core function of the ATS control panel is to coordinate the connection between the main power source (usually utility power) and the backup power source (typically a generator). As a central control unit, it is responsible for delivering the appropriate power source to electrical equipment such as lighting, machinery, control systems, and so on.
Many people regard it as the “general dispatcher” of the backup power system. Because it centralizes the management of different power sources into one unit, it avoids the risk of incorrect wiring and makes the entire power distribution system easier to maintain and manage.
