A circuit breaker is a device used to control and protect electrical circuits.

Under normal conditions, the current is stable and safe. But sometimes accidents happen—such as when the current becomes too high (this is called overload) or when the current takes the wrong path (this is called a short circuit). Both situations can cause excessive heating, equipment damage, or even fire. Its main function is to cut off the current when a problem occurs in the circuit, preventing equipment damage and reducing safety risks. Simply put, a circuit breaker is like a safety switch – once a fault happens, it automatically disconnects the power.

You can think of a circuit breaker as a guardian of the electrical system. Under normal conditions, it allows current to flow smoothly; once it detects danger, it cuts off the power immediately. This rapid response reduces losses, improves safety, and effectively protects critical electrical equipment such as VFD control panels and soft starter control panels.

Unlike ordinary switches, a circuit breaker responds automatically, making it more reliable in emergency situations.
